What's going on...
Well I have found a good partner for the collaboration project. I am very happy working with Brenda. I have not been on as much lately as I should. It's state tournament time, and basketball has taken over my life for the time being :) I am not complaining in the least bit, however. It is just hard to juggle school and work and kids and basketball all at once - but life is short, pack in what you can, right??

Group work
I am excited to get working on the collaboration project. I have some info but I am sure I need more. I will probably go to Mel.org and look up some info from some professional journals - I think mel is the best place to look for education journals. Check it out if you are looking for some good info.

Second Life meeting
I thought the second life meeting went well. We visited some interesting places and I think there are some educational opportunities out there. I think the stop I enjoyed the most was the aquarium. I thought that would be a fun way for kids to learn about the animals -especially with the notecards! By the way, my name on Second Life is Lizzy Republic.
The only drawback that I saw is that it did not seem extremely interactive - although I did enjoy playing the trivia game at the space station! But I think that would come with more experience - you would learn to do more things...

I forgot to mention that my avatar's name is Lizzy Republic! I will probably check in again after our meeting this afternoon!

Second life
I just visited the Sistine Chapel in Second Life - it was pretty cool. I was surpised at how detailed the artwork is. From there I went to animal island. I am running out of time to really look around, but next time that is where I am headed.
I will admit I am surpised at how "creative" some of the avatars are as far as looks. I made my Avatar to look as close to me as possible. I wonder what that says about humans - we get on there and want to be something different!!! I was also surpised at the amount of "mature" content. I guess I am just a little old-school :)

Second Life
I have had an interesting time so far in Second Life. I finally fixed my avatar so it looks like me, which is good. I learned how to sit, fly, teleport, conduct searches, and chat with people. Right now I am stuck on, I think it's called "Welfare island." Oh, and I actually drove a car, which I was pretty pumped about.
In my real life, my team won again tonight - we are now 13-1. We played really well and I am very happy about the game!!!!
